Founded in 2017 by John and Deidra Bennett, Bennett General Construction represents more than just quality building, we’re a family business rooted in community values and a deep respect for the natural beauty of Central Oregon.
Our Story
John’s construction expertise spans nearly three decades, beginning in 1997 with comprehensive training across multiple trades including painting, framing, and commercial general contracting. His career included extensive work with commercial companies, where he gained invaluable experience managing complex projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
However, the demands of traveling construction work meant time away from what mattered most, family. After years of missing school events, weeknight dinners, and weekend activities with their three children, John and Deidra made a pivotal decision: to establish their own company that would allow them to maintain both professional excellence and family priorities.
This vision of balancing exceptional craftsmanship with meaningful family time became the foundation of Bennett General Construction in 2017. What started as a commitment to being present for their children’s lives has evolved into a respected construction company known throughout Central Oregon for quality work and reliable service.
As high school sweethearts who both grew up in the Portland area before making Central Oregon their permanent home in the mid-1990s, John and Deidra bring deep community roots to every project. They understand that building in this region means more than construction, it means contributing to the place where they’re raising their family and building their legacy.
